Dear friends

i am planing to build exhaust pipes for my mustang. What is the recommended stainless steel type and Wall thickness?

Is it NA, supercharged or turbo-charged?

Hi Gordon

currently its NA and i am currently working on Turbo charged LS.

Great question, if its turbocharged then this depends on the support that the turbocharger has, it's common to see single turbo V8s use thinwall stainless 1.6mm headers that merge into a supported turbocharger that uses a bracket off the block or body of the vehicle to support its weight. If its a twin turbocharged V8 then you may get away with an unsupported 1.6mm stainless header holding a single turbocharger os smaller size off each head. If you could get some pictures then this would help us a lot. If its NA then thinwall stainless steel will be your material of choice, 1.6mm in 304 or 316 stainless will be perfect.
