What are some suggestions for a good tig welder? I’ll be working on a cafe racer & down the road will be working on drift cars. I just was wondering are there any that are highly recommended as far as maybe not using it everyday but you get great quality without breaking the bank too much. Thanks

Nick, I have a related question. I have an older Miller 250HF TIG/stick welder. I like it because it's simple and rock solid reliable. However, it does not have features such as adjustable pulse that the newer welders have. I'm wondering if the new features are all that important and if my welding machine is good enough for basic fab work, or if I should invest in another newer machine. Maybe I should start a new thread but it seems like two similar questions might start a good discussion for both of us.

If its of any help, I just got this one, the TIG-250P-AC/DC from YesWelder. You can find it reviewed by a number of welding channels on Youtube. Good pricing, and excellent features. HF Start, Pulse, AC/DC (So does Aluminium etc too), Good duty cycle, comes with Pedal as well as torch with trigger. Very fast shipping too.

I am in New Zealand, and this works correctly on the Single phase 230AC here (Same system as Australia). They also sell the machine in the USA and Europe. It is specified as being a 220V machine, it does not run on the 110/120V USA systems, you must have 220V.

Very happy with it so far, and the customer service is very good.

Another good one reviewed a bit is the 205DS which is a Multiprocess MIG/Stick/Tig (DC) which is rated rather well too. This runs on 110 or 220.

Hope thats of some help
