not a bad course, but you could of done a proper module on stacking dimes, taught me how to set a machine and prep different materials, but you don't really do a good closeup of the pool and feeding the filler in.

I would agree with this also.

Seen a number of Tig Youtube videos, and some specify the importance of the torch angle and also the angle of feed of the filler. This did mention the torch angle a little, but doesn't seem to cover the filler or puddle much, and also nothing I have seen so far on the puddle/pool and what to look for, how big it should be, what it should look like, etc. It covers after the fact and what is good colours and bad colours, but nothing on the during... hmm

Hi James and David, good point and ill admit I am not the best at "stacking dimes" I am still working on my technique and try new ways to improve my welds with every project. Really the key to stacking dimes as you call it is consistent filler rod control, consistant travel speed and weld heat. This means that each dab into the pool needs to be the same size and tempreture to sink over the last. Unfortunately its really only practice that gets you there. Hope this helps.
