dxf files is new to me im having a hard time trying to open them and view them on my computer?
The file extension was developed for CAD, and 'should' be able to be opened by most common CAD software.
I believe some CAD software companies offer a simplified version of their products for home use/students, which should be sufficient for your needs but, if not, one of these should do the job - https://www.scan2cad.com/cad/free-dxf-viewers/
