There is a lot of talk about overheating chrome molly when welding it, so the question is what is the secret to welding it successfully?
Stemming on from this... anyone got experience on working with (machining/welding) 4140 chromoly vs 4130? Cheers
There is a whole lot of information on-line, because of the nature of the beast, not a lot you can really do about it - some alloys are more susceptible than others.
Seems the primary concern is oxygen contamination causing embrittlement.
