Are there recommendations of a specific brand/model for auto-darkening welding?
Are there specific recommendations on the helmet specificaitoins I should be looking for (for example, like the response time)?
I was checking some out earlier today, for the 'wish list'.
There are numerous reviews and tests on-line, but some suggestions for criteria may be coverage, viewing angles, grindind shield and/or mode, darkening range, how 'clear' they are, whether you will wish to use them with glasses and/or respirator, some come with filtered air supply packs, etc. I left budget to the end because, if you're serious, you're going to be living in the helmet for hours at a time, and compromising to save a few dolars may very quickly turn out to be a big mistake.
Oh, and make sure you know how to look after the lenses/face-shields, as it takes very little to micro-scratch them and destroy the clarity of vision.
