Discussion and questions related to the course Motorsport Fabrication Fundamentals
Hi guys, I’ve been looking around for a 10 -20 ton press pump for dimple dies. I can only seem to find bottle jack type stand presses that I just don’t have space for. Does anyone know of a hand held hydronic presses?
If I understand your want, there are at least two options, both 'pull through' - a screw type, where the dies are pulled together by a threaded bolt, or shaft, and the hydraulic type, where a pull-type hydraulic cylinder draws the parts together.
They may also be referred to as swaging or countersinking dies.
There are specially designed dimpling tools which bolt to a bench, which basically clamp the material between the two parts, but they are quite expensive and may be hard to find - and I don't think they're what want, anyway.
