ChairSlayers 1200HP Drive | How To Go From Fabricating To Driving [TECH TALK]

Having gone from the tools to the driver's seat of Lyfe Motorsports R35 GTR at the World Time Attack Challenge, Rob ‘Chairslayer’ Parsons knows a few things about setting goals and achieving them.

Nigel Petrie from the ETS Motorsport Fabrication School had a chance to chat with Rob about how he has gone from learning how to weld to building and driving his own drift cars and the progression in between. The ability to give anything a go without fear of failure holding things up has been the main ingredient for success, with both Nigel and Rob underlining the need to just dive into fabrication and treat any mistakes as part of the learning process along the way.

From never driving any grip racing events to piloting Cole Powelsons Lyfe Racing 1200HP R35 GTR weapon around Sydney Motorsports park with a time of 1:34.1840 is certainly one way to dive into the deep end, and when you consider this has been done while changing the car between hand and foot controls for both Rob and Cole to drive, it’s all the more impressive.
